Lettings – Inventories are a MUST

Why wouldn’t any Landlord obtain an inventory before the start of an AST?  An inventory and Schedule of Condition is important, even crucial.  Why?  If there is a dispute with the (tenant’s) deposit, it’s essential that a good inventory is in place, so that the condition of the property can be checked back to what it was prior to the tenants moving in. The inventory can provide critical evidence in the settlement of deposit disputes.

It is a false economy not to have an Inventory, as some of the stories we hear, testify.
