Sundays – switch off for small business owners?

Not for our small business – it is a day to catch up on the week’s admin tasks, and prepare for the week ahead.

A business is reliant on its leaders to oversee strategies and provide structure; pre-planning is essential for all departments, and this can often only happen on a Sunday, when there are no employers around, the phones aren’t ringing, and relative peace reigns in the office.

A recent survey showed that families of small businesses suffered due to the hours put in by their owners.  With Sweden now introducing 6 hour days for employees, I wonder who will look after the bosses who put in so many unseen hours, plus many hours of worry – the so-called ‘risk and reward’ of running a business?

Are you the owner of a small business?  I’d love to hear when, and how, you manage to ‘switch off’.
